Family owned and operated since 1914, Berniker Decorators has been servicing the Tri-State area for over 90 years. Louis Berniker opened the first store in the Bronx, where he sold fabric by the yard. As years passed, the business started to grow, and by the 50's and 60's the store was under the guidance of Louis' children, Bill, Izzy, Rose and Car.. The Berniker siblings expanded the business to include draperies, upholstery, blinds and shades. Soon after, a second location was opened in Paramus, NJ. After serving 4 years in the Navy, during the Vietnam era, Current owner Whitey Berniker, joined his father Bill.
Whitey was joined by his wife Denise. In 2003, the fourth generation of Berniker's was added to the lineup. Whitey and Denise's son Scott joined the business bringing his own area of expertise to the company, after working in the industry in Colorado. Today, Berniker Decorators is located in Katonah, NY, where it has evolved into a full service interior Design Studio.
